Anyone using the latest version (23.9.1) of Mauna, please install the new version (24), as said version 23.9.1 will be discontinued in 10 (ten) days after the publication of this new release.
What’s new in this new version
In this version, we are bringing our new installer based on GTK, which makes installing the system easier, as well as quicker to install, update and configure your new system on your machine (PC/Notebook).
Our App Store is completely intuitive and super easy to use, being able to install and uninstall with just a few processes. The App Store is based on the Linux Mint Software Manager, which makes it easy to install applications in Flatpak mode, in addition to traditional “deb” packages.

We now have a Graphical Application Updater, Mauna Update, which facilitates and manages all system updates, thus reducing the use of the Terminal for those who are not accustomed to the command line. Mauna Update is very easy to use, with the facility to “purge” residual applications that remain in the cache after deleting or updating them.

We also have the “About Mauna” app, which shows some useful information about the machine’s computer and network in use!

And also for newcomers to the system, we have the Welcome Screen, which provides a small introduction and presentation of the system to new users, as well as showing some basic steps to be taken once the installation is complete.

In this version, the Linux Kernel is 6.1 LTS, which brings total stability at its core and there is no risk of breaking the system in future updates to the current version.
The system’s official browser is Firefox, which is in the most recent version, 119.0.1, and brings several improvements compared to previous versions.
Firmware
All the necessary firmware are present so that there is no incompatibility with the different brands and models of Computers and/or Notebooks.
Applications
We have some apps that are not present in this version, which are:
1 – Mauna Image Writer: Image Writer is an application for writing ISO and IMG files to USB pen drives.
2 – Mauna USB Formatter: USB Formatter is an application to easily format USB drives, which can be Pen Drives or External HD’s.
3 – Simple Screen Recorder
