Using my Linux Acer Chromebook as a Plex Media Server. Only Uses 0.4KWH in 2 days. Energy Saver!!
I am cheap.
I didn’t like leaving my desktop all day long because I felt like I was wasting too much electricity (even though I wasn’t)
I originally had a small form factor (sff) lenovo thinkcentre m800.
It runs pretty well averaging about 0.15KW when in idle… in 2 days it used about 0.84 KWh of electricity.
When I moved my plex media setup to the acer chromebook 14 laptop (now running linux)… it uses half the electricity. It idles at around 0.08KW…. and in 2 days it used about 0.4KWh of electricity.
It’s pretty nice. I’m now saving half the amount of electricity as I was using the SFF desktop.
