Ultra rare Macintosh clone unboxing – the 68000 dash 30fx
This is totally unedited and raw footage of me unboxing my latest acquisition that arrived from Japan this week – a rare Macintosh clone. It’s called the dash 30fx built by Sixty Eight Thousand Inc (or 68000 as per their logo).
Any questions just ask away in the comments – it’ll help me decide what to cover in a follow up video.
A quick overview: the machine uses an original Apple Macintosh IIfx logic board with some Sixty Eight Thousand additions:
1. An overclocking board that takes the CPU from the stock 40mhz up to 50mhz
2. Their « SCSI Bolt » PDS card for accelerated disk access speeds
3. Super large memory cards with their own fan to cool them!
4. A super beefy custom power supply
5. All mounted in a crazy solid metal case with space for multiple drives, a locking front access door and top-mounted ports and card slots
It’s like a IIfx on steroids! And must be the fastest 68030 Macintosh ever – although I’ll have to do some testing to confirm that.
