OSI Model
The OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) model is a conceptual framework used to understand how different network protocols interact. It consists of seven layers, each responsible for a specific aspect of network communication, from physical transmission to application-level data exchange. The layers are:
1. **Physical**: Deals with the physical connection between devices.
2. **Data Link**: Manages data transfer between devices on the same network.
3. **Network**: Handles addressing, routing, and packet forwarding.
4. **Transport**: Ensures reliable data transfer between end systems.
5. **Session**: Establishes, maintains, and ends communication sessions between applications.
6. **Presentation**: Deals with data formatting, encryption, and compression.
7. **Application**: Provides interface between software applications and the network.
