Macworld 1999: Apple introduces new and colored Power Mac G3
On January 7, 1999 at MacWorld in San Francisco Steve Jobs and Phil Schiller introduced the new and redesigned Power Macintosh G3. Apart from that – Steve Jobs talked about FireWire: Apple intended FireWire to be a serial replacement for the parallel SCSI bus while providing connectivity for digital audio and video equipment. Jobs was sure, that FireWire would become the one and only standard.
