IPv4 – What is Classless IP Addressing?
If you’re involved at all with IP networks, you will have heard the terms « classful » and « classless ». But what do they really mean and why should you care? In this video, I’ll explain what classless IP addressing is, and how it eventually evolved into the standard deployment method of allocating IPv4 address spaces.
To understand classless addressing, it is necessary to first understand classful addressing, so if you haven’t already done so, I suggest you take a look at my video on that topic first. The link for that video is found further down in this description (after the Chapter List).
