iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max have a very capable camera for shooting video, new 4K cinematic mode in iPhone 14 Pro Max got a lot better and the stabilization and dynamic range of the iPhone has been phenomenal for many generations. But still iPhones, smartphones in general and especially the iPhone 14 Pro tends to over process the image and oversharpen it a lot, which doesn’t look cinematic. A few days ago I’ve rewatched one of my favorite movies of all time – Catch me if you can by Steven Spielberg and I found it’s visual aesthetics to be very pleasing, filmic-looking and cinematic (hate this word, but it truly is). So I thought – could I imitate the look of this movie with my iPhone 14 Pro Max with the right knowledge and software?
