European School of Antennas and Propagation "Fundamentals on Antennas" Course -Anten'it Antenna Kits
This video is from the lab section of the « Fundamentals on Antennas » course given at the European School of Antennas and Propagation. The course was organized by Prof. Daniel Segovia-Vargas at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid Radiofrequency, Electromagnetics, Microwave and Antennas Research Group (GREMA-UC3M).
The participants had 5 days of courses, including two half days of laboratory sections with Anten’it kits. They designed thin monopole, thick monopole and capacitive loaded monopole antennas on the first day and sleeve monopole antennas on the second day. Then, the radiation patterns of a reusable block based horn antenna and an axial mode helical antenna with circular polarization are measured.
Reusable block based antenna and microwave design methodology makes it possible to design and iterate different structures practically. There are also simulation files and 3D STEP files for the antennas and microwave components. The participants can also simulate the structures for complex structures.
Antenna engineers working in the industry use this concept to test their ideas rapidly. The main advantage of this concept is the reusability of the blocks. The reusable blocks include metal cells, 3 different kinds of dielectrics with 2.6, 4.4 and 8 dielectric constant, absorber cells, lumped elements, ground planes and connectors. The blocks are easily dismounted for use in another project again.
