Configure and Verify ISIS for IPv6 Address Family on Juniper JunOS
It is more than time to move to IPv6.
In this demo, let’s explore configuration and verification steps of IS-IS for IPv6 using JUNIPER JunOS.
In the test network topology, we have 6 routers, organised in 3 areas .
1. In Area 1 we have Router 3 and Router 4. Here Router 3 will act as L1L2 Router while we will set Router 4 will run as an L1 Router.
2. Area 2 consist of Router 1 and Router 2, both running as L1L2 routers.
3. Area 3 consist of Router 5 and Router 6 both running at level 2.
Be reminded that L1 Routers can build adjacency only with other L1 or L1L2 Routers So in this case R4 and R3 can build adjacency and share link state data bases between each other.
While L2 Routers can build adjacency only with other L2 or L1L2 Routers So in this case Router 5 and Router 6 can build adjacency and share link state data bases between each other.
Router 4, Router 5 and Router 6 are each serving a /64 IPv6 network.
