How to Create a Shutdown Shortcut and Restart Shortcut for Windows 10
In this video I show you how to make a shutdown shortcut on your desktop for Windows 10. I also show you how to make a restart shortcut on your desktop. You can either keep the shortcuts on your desktop or you can move the shortcuts to your taskbar. Having this shortcut provides a quick way to shutdown Windows 10 and also a fast way to restart if your computer isn’t responding normally.
Shutdown:
shutdown -s -t 1
Restart:
shutdown -r -t 1
How To Create a Shutdown Shortcut In Windows 10:
Step 1: Right click on your Desktop and hover the mouse over “New”, then click on “Shortcut”
Step 2: Type « shutdown -s -t 1” (without quotes) and then click on Next.
Step 3: Name the shortcut “Shutdown” and then click “Finish”.
Step 4: Change the shortcut icon by right clicking on the shortcut, select “Properties” and then click on “Change Icon”
Step 5: Select an Icon, then click “Apply”, and then “Ok” .
How To Create a Restart Shortcut In Windows 10:
Step 1: Right click on your Desktop and hover the mouse over “New”, then click on “Shortcut”
Step 2: Type « shutdown -r -t 1” (without quotes) and then click on Next.
Step 3: Name the shortcut “Restart” and then click “Finish”.
Step 4: Change the shortcut icon by right clicking on the shortcut, select “Properties” and then click on “Change Icon”
Step 5: Select an Icon, then click “Apply”, and then “Ok” .
