Android Studio on Raptor CS Talos 2 with qemu-user 7.2 (qemu-x86_64) and native ppc64le Java VM
Since unfortunately running Android Studio inside the Arch Linux x86_64 chroot (and thus with the emulated x86_64 Java VM) doesn’t work (https://gitlab.com/qemu-project/qemu/-/issues/1492) I’ve had the idea to run it outside of the chroot with the native Gentoo Linux ppc64le OpenJDK 11 Java VM, while still leveraging qemu user to dynamically emulate the x86_64 binaries thanks to the QEMU_LD_PREFIX environment variable which sets the elf interpreter prefix.
This way has the added benefit of being VERY fast compared to using the emulated x86_64 Java VM, but it still doesn’t work fully.
I’m not sure about the « SDK emulator directory is missing » error, while the « java.lang.NullPointerException » is probably due to the use of OpenJDK 11 instead of the patched JetBrains Runtime (it’s probably harmless anyway). The real dealbreaker is the Gradle build crashing unfortunately. Might be releated to the « SDK emulator directory is missing » error.
