Common issues with Apple Macintosh Systems – Part 3 : Hard Disks
Welcome to Jason’s Macintosh Museum!
In Part 3 of the series « Common issues with Apple Macintosh Systems », we take a look at hard disks, and the various issues that they can have.
In my experience, most hard drive issues are caused by the degradation of the magnetic media – this cannot be fixed, and the only fix is the replacement of the drive.
However, some issues can be fixed, and given how hard it is to find replacement 50-pin SCSI hard drives, it is often worth the risk to open up your old hard drive and attempt to repair it.
As always – check out the blooper reel at the end!
