2015 Retina MacBook Pro 15" Anti-Glare Coating Woe (Staingate)

I’ve loved Apple products since my Mac 128k in 1984, but I still prefer to present the facts. Here’s a March 26, 2020 article that proves my video is still relevant today: https://bit.ly/2wyIhdy

DETAILS. The anti-glare coating began coming off 11 months after purchase. I never used any liquid cleaner. Rarely cleaned the screen. Always had a microfiber cloth between keyboard and screen. Used that clean microfiber cloth every now and then to carefully and lightly wipe the screen. Use mostly at home with screen shut and an external display. This is truly a babied computer! Nevertheless the coating started to come off.

I have a 2012 Retina iPad (3rd gen) and have cleaned that screen through the years much more harshly than I ever wiped the rMBP screen and yet the iPad screen is still pristine. Ditto regarding my iPhone 7. There is something insanely delicate about the coating on these MacBook Pros.
