Rackintosh is very good name. I am interested what are you going to do with your old Macpro :). Second question, Rack Macpro is designed to typical – server cabinet. How did you install to your cabinet/stand? Musical cabinet usually has max. 50 cm of deep. Looking on length of rails it seems that are much longer. Or you use, probably, professional studio furniture from Argosy or Studio Desk :). Change Avid audio system, especially internal not stable PCI cards… this is disaster! Each computer inside, even for 20.000 $, is horrible environment for making music. Thanks for your excellent video! … and let me know about your old Macpro 😁

Really want to know what you think about Apple moving to their own silicon and away from Intel, curious how that’s gonna affect your workflow and if you think it’ll be an easy transition for music production

I run a business and now there is little to no risk to run a hackintosh. If you understand the technology you can manage a hackintosh easily

What are you thinking about apple silicon. Just wondering if that in the future may affect your workflow.

And now Apple have changed their processing architecture so you’ll have to buy a whole other system with the ARM processor if you want to run apps (eventually) natively!

They have to add those really dumb warning's because some dumb ass will do it and than turn around and sue the company. It always happens that's why there are so many really dumb warnings on things because there's always that one retard……

This is the consumer of a Mac Pro. I hope you like your new Rack Pro. I think your cat will also love the Rack Pro, well the packaging at least🙃

I think the reason they’ve got a wireless keyboard is cause that the same one that comes with the other Mac Pro and they already make it (also the Magic Trackpad only comes with it if you select it while ordering I think?)

The empty pages are for you to draw the machine and the pictures are for you to copy. It’s Mac Obsession, it’s a burning desire.

Hey Neil, I realize that I am really late to this party, and you may never see this comment. However I was rewatching this and I want to note there is a use case for their bluetooth keyboard. On my desk I have my typing surface below my midi keyboard and things are so tight that I with no wires coming out of the back of the keyboard it sits nice and flush against my MIDI keyboard and works great. I do have to charge it every month or two but I just leave it to charge overnight and then come back the next morning (whenever I need to occasionally charge it) and it is fully charged for another couple of months. It's been great for me. Well kinda, they seem to have a bug in the bluetooth system/antenna/whatever that I haven't nailed down yet where these keyboards will be intermittently sporadic with double key presses, no key press, or getting stuck on a key. Not sure what is going on there but I am on keyboard no.2 from apple so hopefully it was just a fluke with the first one.

Super informative video my guy! You can tell you know your stuff. Any chance you would ever consider doing music production videos? I feel like you would do well in it, you have the personality and the experience for it.

You have the only person I see (so far) who has legit reason to use and pay to this machine. You can't buy things that is inferior to workflow in business. I hate apple but I can see you have reasons to use it. Even than only one non redundant power supply in this type machine which your work depends on it very very sad.

I’ve watched 10’s of Mac Pro Video from Mac Pro enthusiasts that think they are Pros.
This is the first person what actually qualifies as a Pro. He speaks how design equates to money and time, not complaining how much his tool costs that he needs make money.

What M.2 modules did you put in your squid card? I'm very happy you mentioned the squid card (might have been in another one of your vids).

Broadcast Engineer here so I feel your pain on a lot of this. I wish we had more macs at work but at home I am all mac now. This macbook pro is my 4th laptop this year. The first just a dell precision 17 plain wore out and was too heavy and bulky on my bad back. The second LG was thin and light but screen broke and warranty service couldn't get parts third was an msi I snagged at walmart it was the fastest they had in stock. It was flimsy and the plastic cracked within weeks and was still a bulky fancy gaming rig. The 4th a new mac pro 16" it looks good, feels good, is rugged and has the power and battery life I need just the right size screen and keyboard. All of my software I found Mac versions Only one I refused was quickbooks but I run that in a VM. Got the original Mac Pro 1,1 maxed out and maybe have 500 in it in my shop and it still holds its own as fast as a mid range PC, my desktop is an IMac with a 20tb raid tower that does time machine for all 3. Its great to have a system that just works without fuss unlike windows or linux but like linux you can open a command line if you want to get under the hood. Also unlike linux the mac hacker community is actually friendly and helpful. Anyway you are awesome I am lusting over all the studio gear you had in your 6th month video. You just gained a subscriber.

Hey I think I am getting my hands on a 16-core. Excited! I am primarily a Protools HDX user. Question! How fast is it going from one session to the next? Like if I have a decent Protools session and then click to open up the next session. Let's say with lots of tracks and VI's and all that. One of the things I'm looking for is just to be able to work quicker and go from session to session quicker. Will this new Mac Pro 2020 16-core help with that?
