How to Configure DHCP on Cisco Router using GNS3 | SYSNETTECH Solutions

This video shows you the steps to configure a DHCP server on the Cisco Router in GNS3.

The main purpose of enabling DHCP on the Router is to assign automatic IP addresses to all devices on the network.

To enable the #DHCP server:

Step 1: If you haven’t installed #GNS3 before, check out the following video:


Step 2: Run GNS3 and add one Router and Switch to the workspace. In addition, add three clouds pcs.

Step 3: Integrate Cloud PCs with VMware and create a new VMnet on Virtual Network Editor.

Step 4: Specify the IP block for the network topology for VMnet.

Step 5: Configure the virtual PC’s TCP/IP settings to browse your network.

Step 6: Use ping to test the network connection between virtual machines. If the result is successful, you can now configure a DHCP server for your network.

Step 7: Double-click on the router and open the CLI.

Step 8: Open R1’s CLI prompt and execute the commands in the 7:40 timeframe in order.

Step 9: After configuring DHCP, set the TCP/IP settings of the virtual machines to obtain an automatic IP address.

Step 10: Use the ipconfig command in the CMD to check if the virtual computers are automatically receiving IP addresses.
