I turned down my Dream Job (Junior Network Engineer)
I quit Network engineering. I will no longer pursue the title or any related work in the field going forward. It no longer interests me or provides what I look for in a career; I don’t see it being beneficial for me in the long term for many reasons. Work life balance to me is important, as is autonomy and hearing it directly from many in the field has partly influenced my decision. Next steps are roles as Data Analyst to possibly move into the Data Engineering/Machine Learning space in the future. What once was a dream of mine shortly withered away into nothingness. I found new exciting work that more aligned with my interests and I weighed my options to make the best decision for me.
