Final Thesis Formatting Checklist Before Printing
Use this final checklist to inspect thesis structure, numbering, figures, tables, references and PDF output before printing.
Never send a newly generated thesis directly to the printer. Complete this final inspection in Word and again in the exported PDF.
Document structure
- All required preliminary sections are present.
- Chapters appear in the correct order.
- Every chapter has the correct divider page and header.
- The general conclusion, bibliography and appendices are complete.
Numbering and navigation
- Roman preliminary page numbers are correct.
- Arabic numbering starts at the required section.
- Headings follow a consistent hierarchy.
- The table of contents has been updated.
- Lists of figures and tables match the document.
Visual quality
- All images are readable and sufficiently sharp.
- Tables fit within the margins.
- Captions are complete and consistently positioned.
- No heading is isolated at the bottom of a page.
- No unexpected blank page remains.
Academic details
- Names, titles, university and academic year are correct.
- Abbreviations are defined.
- References are complete and consistently formatted.
- Permissions and source citations are included where required.
- The document follows the official faculty template.
PDF and print test
Export the final DOCX to PDF, inspect all pages at 100% zoom and print two or three representative pages before ordering the complete bound copy.
