I am getting this error while registering
    Can anybody help

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 – Could not open a connection to SQL Server)

Hi I have a question about the database opening/closing. In checkMemberExists(), we are opening the connection, then using the sqlDataAdapter to send the query. Is it necessary to open the connection manually, since the sqlDataAdapter automatically opens and closes for us? Is the database being closed by the sqlDataAdapter if it is opened manually?

Okay so I've seen lots of people have had an issue with the sign up button just refreshing the page/not doing anything. I was stuck on this problem for quite some time and in the end found that it was because I didn't have a user account on SQL Server. I found the issue by using the Chrome Dev tools when clicking the Sign In button, which then showed an error along the lines of 'Cannot open database elibraryDB requested by the login. Login failed for user xyz<myaccountname>'. To solve this you need to go to https://t.co/H86ATyYGhw?amp=1 and follow the instructions in the reply that includes using the SELECT SUSER_ID('xyzASPNET') command. You will then need to right click on your database server in SSMS, go to properties, then permissions, find the user you have just created and tick grant on all of the Explicit permissions. If you cannot do this it might be because you are not the administrator of the computer (you can just run SSMS as an admin in this case). If this doesn't fix the problem then it's likely a typo somewhere within your code (check table name, connection string, fields, etc). Hope this helps!

No words to appreciate your way of teaching bro.
You could have properly named the textboxes instead of TextBox1 etc.
    Bit confusing at times.

Do you even read comments Tanmay and help people out here? There are so many queries regarding the data not going into the database and I suffered for the same for 3 days straight fucking up my head. I had to delete the whole project and start over again and maybe I won't even start up again. THE PAGE JUST FUCKING RELOADS AND NOTHING EVER HAPPENS!

If your signup button is getting an alert box, first check that you have placed the name of dababase correct, then table name, if they are correct, then go to database if there is a space between the names you used in dababase, remove the space and place underscore it will work.

Thanks sir for teaching us so good 😊

For those having problems with inserting the data to DB (SQL Server Express 2019):
    1) go to your Web.config file
    2) update your connectionstring to:
    <add name="con" connectionString="Server=YourServerName;Database=YourDatabaseName;Integrated Security=True" />

Problem background: In my case, there is no error showing and I noticed that connectionState is never opened.
Thus, I cannot insert any data to the database since it was not successfully opened in the first place.

    Hope this helps!

For all facing sign up button not working problem, without showing any error. Just remove the " try catch" block to get the Exact error, as "try catch" block will not let the error to show in some cases!!!

Hi guys. Thanks for great tutorial.

I have a problem. For some reason Vis Stud can't call on TextBox IDs.
In the Singup.aspx.cs page, the code cmd.Parame … .TextBox1.Text … It doen't recognize the TextBox1 or other IDs. I opened the property of forms in singup.aspx page to see if they aren't named but they are assigned appropriate ID. No clue how to fix it.
