Don't get stuck with C to learn programming

the most common question that I get is, should I learn C in order to learn programming. There are a lots of myths going on with C. Let’s clear them all and move one step closer to learn programming

    #include <stdio.h>
    int main()
    {
    printf("While you have a point, understanding basics of C is quintessential for good programmer-like thinking, not so much developing C skills, but developing base programming-thinking skillsn");
    return0;
    }

    i am in first year , I learned c (in college and beginner's course in nptel ) and know I am confused to decide what to learn next in this lockdown.
    Should I choose c++ and dsa followed by it.
    Or completely another language (java for comfortable Android development or python for dbms and machine learning)
    Or should I continue to go deeper with c.(which I don't know if it is used full in future)

    The main point is learning to solve problems, create algorithms and implementing them in any language isn't it?

    Harvard every year does a CS50 course for their students and yeah they are opting for python but before starting with python, they start with C first.

    How can you know what you want to do, before you dive into the world of development, and discover all the different things it can offer? "I want to learn Java and develop Android applications" is like saying "I want to go to India and ride a rickshaw." Really, that is why you are visiting a huge culture like India?
    Having a general idea is ok, but don't encourage confidence without clarity – give yourself some time and discover what you want to do. Even if you then discover that developing Android apps was all that you wanted.

    Thank you very much for giving the clear picture on this. I am very clear now what to learn for web development instead scratching my head with "C"

    Not against you but C is necessary, not when you want to learn coding but you when want to learn how to program.

    Well i have to say that my experience is:
    C is probably the best Language to get into the Basics of Software Development in general (if you don't have a specific goal in mind).
    I started with JavaScript and got very confused over the time because i never could imagine what was happening under the hood.
    When i got into C and learned more about low Level stuff, it greatly improved my Understanding of Programming in general.
    The Abstraction you get with high level languages can both be a good thing or a bad thing.
    In my case it was a bad thing.
    But yeah…if you already know you want to only do Web Development, it might be easier to get into it with JS.
