Computerized Start™: Unboxing a Macintosh IIci Like the One I Registered My First Domain On
Since this is the 23rd Anniversary Year of my first domain name, jdmcs.com, I decided to do something special for #MARCHintosh2022: restore a computer like the one I registered that domain on.
I do remember that I registered that domain name from either a Macintosh IIci or a Macintosh IIcx, and definitely not some other member of the Macintosh II family. After all, the school had plenty of IIcx’s and IIci’s strewn about the labs, and they look identical (save the one letter in the name), which is why I’m always doubting which of the two I was using.
Since I found a IIci on eBay that was about $10 more than a IIcx in comparable physical condition, and the IIci is the better of the two, I decided to go with a IIci for #MARCHintosh.
Will it need ⌘Saving? And did I get a good deal? You’ll have to tune in or watch later to find out!
